ππ) livestock project with the technical cooperation of the Friends Community Development Organization.
Disease surveillance and prevention program implemented for 3000 stables in the Nerkh, Chak and Jalrez districts of Maidan wardak province.
Additionally, FCDO staff and community-based animal health workers carried-out routine checkups, vaccinations and raised awareness about the prevention of contagious animal diseases through early treatment
As result, this program aims to improve hygiene in the stables, βͺincrease the domestic production of food , β¬introduce health procedures that will keep the diseases under control.β¬
Food and Agriculture Organization (π
ππ) livestock project vaccination program with the technical cooperation of the Friends Community Development Organization.
Vaccination programs were being implemented for, a total of 13762 domestic animals in the Nerkh, Jalrez, and Chak districts of Maidan Wardak province. In this vaccination program, a total of 2501 vulnerable households' domestic animals including (4108 cattle, 6359 sheep, and 220 goats) were being vaccinated.
Additionally, The vaccination teams (16 veterinary doctors ) working door to door to visit the animals at home for vaccinations.
As result, Vaccination is one of the main pillars in disease prevention. Animal vaccinations help Afghan farmers and their livestock stay healthy.

Concentrated feed is being distributed to vulnerable livestock keepers and herders in the Chak district of Maidan Wardak province, starting today, March 27, 2024. In this distribution, a total of 1000 vulnerable livestock keepers including (982 men and 18 women) have received 200 kg of concentrated feed.
Today's distribution that was going on in Chak district which was attended by the Maidan Wardak Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Directorate deputy, Chak district representatives, and TPM.

In this distribution, a total of 1000 vulnerable livestock keepers including (977 men and 23 women) have received 200 kg of concentrated feed.
Today's distribution that was going on in Jalrez district which was attended by the Maidan Wardak Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Directorate deputy, Jalrez district representatives, and TPM.

Today, March 3, 2024, Representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization (π
ππ), and deputies from FCDO visited the livestock project in the Maidan Wardak province.
Representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization (π
ππ) held meeting with local leaders of Nerkh,Jalrez and Band-Chak districts about livestock project which was attended by FCDO program manager Eng Awal Khan "Ahmadzai", Rahman Wali Pakteen provincial manager and Eng Fareed Ahmad Aria project supervisor.
Moreover, Representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization (π
ππ) reviewed documents of newly hired employees, visited warehouse of livestock project, training centers and vulnerable households.
As a result, the visitors expressed their appreciation for the project which was implemented thanks to the technical cooperation of the Friends Community Development Organization.
