Livelihood and Food Security

Explore Sustainable & Disaster Resilient Livelihood Option.
FCDO conducted dated (1/7/2022-31/7/2022), beneficiary selection survey in Baghrami, Khak-E-Jabar, Musayee, Char Asiab, Sarubi, Paghman, and Deh Sabz districts. Auspiciously, 15350 vulnerable families including 13850 men and 1500 women were met the criteria, the major ration was given to disabled people who cannot work to feed their families. Survey aimed to identify the most vulnerable households for the food insecurity in these districts and to provide them with the WFP Unconditional seasonal support. FCDO leaderships is committed to identify vulnerable households in order to provide them with assistance in the form of CBT and food modality. FCDO has done the distribution of assistance packages (Flour, Cooking Oil, salt, Pea Dahl, and malnutrition food for children) to 15350 vulnerable households in mentioned districts. The people expressed their happiness and appreciated the leadership of FCDO and asked for continued assistance. WFP, in collaboration with FCDO, aims to distribute assistance packages to vulnerable households overall in 7 districts of Kabul province. July month survey and Food distribution of these districts were completed.

On July 31, 2022, FCDO has done the distribution of assistance packages ( Flour, Cooking Oil, salt, Pea Dahl, and malnutrition food for children ) to 1600 vulnerable households in Chahar Asiab district. The people expressed their happiness and appreciated the leadership of FCDO and asked for continued assistance. WFP, in collaboration with FCDO, aims to distribute assistance packages to vulnerable households overall in 7 districts of Kabul province.

On January 5, 2022, FCDO conducted a beneficiary selection survey in Khak-e-Jabar, Sorobi, Mosaye, Chahar Aasiab Districts of Kabul Province, and Saib Abad District of Wardak Province. By the end of this month, FCDO will provide the selected beneficiaries with WFP CBT and In-kind Assistance.

FCDO conducted a beneficiary selection survey in Khak-e-Jabar, Sorobi, Mosaye, Chahar Aasiab, Paghman, Deh Sabz, and Baghrami Districts of Kabul Province. This survey aims to identify the most vulnerable households in these districts and provide them with the WFP Unconditional Seasonal Support. FCDO staff worked, day and night, in freezing cold weather, and in snowfall to identify the needy and vulnerable households in order to provide them with assistance in the form of CBT and Food.

On (Nov 27, 2021), Country Director for WFP in Afghanistan, WFP officials, and FCDO Director visited the distribution of assistance packages(flour, cooking oil, and salt) to 400 vulnerable households in Maidan City, Wardak Province. WFP, in collaboration with FCDO, aims to distribute assistance packages to 9000 households overall in Maidan City, Wardak Province.

Vocational Training

Today, May 5, 2024, FCDO held UCSS project farewell meeting which was attended by FCDO internal and provincial staff. ‎‏At the beginning of the meeting, FCDO director Eng Khalil Rahman "Asad" said: expressed my gratitude to the employees for their good work, honesty, transparency, high quality of work and good relations with government officials and local leaders. ‎‏Later, FCDO program manager Eng Awal Khan "Ahmadzai" expressed his gratitude to the employees for their good management and comprehensive cooperation and praised the tireless efforts of the employees. ‎‏Additionally, at the end of the meeting they were honored with certificates of appreciation. The employees who have now been discharged have been promised that they will be hired in other projects and will be cooperating with the Office of FCDO. ‎‏We would like to say a big thank you to all of our employees who have been with us for many months. You have all contributed so much to the organization, and we are truly grateful. we wish you all the best in your future endeavors

On, February 18, 2024, FCDO held two-day training regarding Gender, CFM, PSEA, and code of conduct which was attended by TPM, FCDO internal and provincial staff. At the beginning of the training, FCDO program manager Eng Awal Khan "Ahmadzai" said: Employees should learn new things very carefully and implement them in their assigned positions, and each employee should use these trainings accurately to avoid problems in the field in which they are involved. The training was presented by Sajid "Jobair" responsible for the Monitoring and Evaluation Department and Maryam "Rashidi" and gave comprehensive technical information regarding the Gender section. Based on the principle of the WFP, we need to understand and consider the principles to provide better service to the most vulnerable beneficiaries and create a better working environment for the employees. Additionally, at the end of the training, each participant individually shared their opinions, and queries regarding the training and promised that we would be ready to proceed the project in a reasonable and transparent manner.

Today, February 13, 2024, FCDO held a one-day training regarding digital Survey (kobo) which was attended by FCDO internal and provincial staff. At the beginning of the training, FCDO program manager Eng Awal Khan "Ahmadzai" said that surveyors should be very careful when collecting data and recording the collected data and had necessary instructions to serve the assigned task in a precise manner. The training was presented by Shafiqullah "Zazai" and Waheedullah "Omari" responsible for the Survey Department of the FCDO and gave comprehensive technical information regarding the survey section. In addition, Shafiqullah “Zazai” said: Based on the principle of the Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO), we need to understand and consider the survey principles to identify the most vulnerable beneficiaries Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO) with the technical cooperation of FCDO focuses on agriculture growth and distribution of animal feed in the Maidan Wardak province. Additionally, at the end of the training, each participant individually shared their opinions, and queries regarding the training and promised that we would be ready to proceed the project in a reasonable and transparent manner

On, September 16, 2023, FCDO held a monthly meeting regarding RB and SAMS project motion which was attended by Functional Departments and field staff of the FCDO. At the beginning of the training, FCDO Program manager Eng Awal Khan "Ahmadzai" said: Based on the principle of government and FCDO organization there should be a complete transparency in the implementation of ongoing projects and had necessary instructions to serve the assigned task in a precise manner. Furthermore, Advisor/Proposal Writer Rahman Wali "Pakteen" stressed the need for all efforts to align with the proposal. He emphasized considering factors such as the distribution of kits, inputs, and location. Later, RB project manager Eng Faridullah "Khaderkhil" said: The ongoing project must be follow up all engineering principles and there are Journal and related project documents must be considered. In summary, at the end of the meeting, the participants' feedback was taken where each participant individually shared their opinions, queries regarding the meetings and they found standard methods for improvement.

Today, August 24, 2023, FCDO held a one-day workshop regarding SCOPE and Survey which was attended by Functional Departments and field staff of the FCDO. At the beginning of the Workshop, Executive Director Khalil Rahman Asad said, Based on the principle of government and respective organization FCDO there should be complete transparency in the implementation of projects to identify the most vulnerable families and give the employees the necessary instructions to serve the assigned task in a precise manner. The workshop was presented by Esmatullah Omarzoi and Shafiqullah Zazai responsible for SCOPE and Survey Department of the FCDO section and gave comprehensive technical information regarding SCOPE and survey section of the respective organization FCDO. Esmatullah Omarzoi also added we need to understand the scope and survey principles, goals, and benefits that help us to identify the most vulnerable families. Additionally, at the end of the workshop, the participants' feedback was taken in written form where each participant individually shared their respective saying regarding the workshop and promised that we would be ready to proceed with the project in a reasonable and transparent manner.

Today, August 8, 2023, FCDO held a one-day workshop regarding Monitoring & Evaluation which was attended by Functional Departments and field staff of the FCDO. At the beginning of the Workshop, Eng Awal Khan Ahmadzai the program manager said, Friends Community Development Organization wants to train their respective employees in every needed area where by learning such training employees learned new things in a very precise manner so that each employee can make sure that the assigned task has been or going to get done accordingly. The Workshop was presented by Sajid JOBAIR responsible for the Monitoring and Evaluation Department of the FCDO and gave comprehensive information regarding monitoring and evaluation section of the respective organization FCDO. Additionally, at the end of the workshop the feedback of the participants was taken in written form where each participant individually shared their respective saying regarding the workshop and the feedback taken back from them made us sure that today’s workshop was one of the major steps forward and promised that we would be ready to proceed with the project in a good and transparent manner.

On, August 5, 2023, FCDO held a monthly meeting which was attended by Awal Khan Ahmadzai FCDO program manager, supervisors of 7 districts, the SCOPE and survey supervisor, the HR department, the transport department, and staff. The good news is that our staff active involvement in the project and the extra effort and hard work they put into the project helped us complete the project as per schedule which convinced and prompted WFP to trust FCDO again and extend the project for 1 more year We are delighted that we are continuing our longstanding cooperation with the Support of WFP in combatting poverty and alleviating the situation of so many socially disadvantaged families in the country The purpose of this monthly meeting included the following topics: Find solutions for previous issues that we were faced Find standard methods for improvement Find the methods that we will not face issues in the future

The World Food Programme 's Representatives visited and evaluated the Friends Community Development Organization. On May 28,2023, Representatives of the World Food Programme visited the headquarters of the Friends Community Development Organization and reviewed the work of the Organization. The meeting was attended by world food program representatives and FCDO program manager,human resources,finance,administrative engineering and related staff. After introducing the participants discussed about the program and shared their views on the implementation of the projects. At the end، representatives of the World Food Programme (WFP) visited the human resources, finance, procurement, engineering and bio-metric offices and examined some of the documents.

On, May 6, 2023, FCDO held one day digitally survey training which was attended by supervisors of 7 districts ، SCOPE and survey staff. The purpose of this training to providing digitally surveys، identifying of the most vulnerable families، collecting data and recording the information accurately. At the beginning of training، program manager Engineer Awal Khan Ahmadzai explained to employees that every employee should do a very accurate digital survey of the required household، and all assigned tasks in a good way، and that each employee should be more careful when collecting data and recording the collected data. The training was conducted by SCOPE and Survey supervisor Esmatullah Omarzoy and gave the staff comprehensive information and added that the 13 principles of the World Food Programme (WFP) should be considered in the digital survey to identify the most vulnerable families. It is worth noting that the participants described this training as a major step forward، promising that we are ready to do so in a good way.

Today, May 6, 2023, FCDO held RB project farewell meeting. Engineer Awal Khan Ahmadzai, supervisors, engineers and employees participated in the meeting. The meeting was held for employees whose contracts were completed and the projects they were responsible for the construction work were completed and implemented. Engineer Awal Khan Ahmadzai(program manager) of FCDO expressed his gratitude to the employees who completed the contract for good work, honesty, transparency, high quality of work and good relations with government officials and local leaders. During the meeting، Engineer Faridullah khaderkhil RB project manager, thanked the officials for their good management and comprehensive cooperation and praised the tireless efforts of his colleagues. It should be noted that the employees and engineers who have now been discharged have been promised that they will be hired in other projects and will be cooperating with the Office of FCDO. At the end of meeting they were honored with certificates of appreciation. We would like to say a big thank you to all of our employees who have been with us for many months. You have all contributed so much to the organization, and we are truly grateful. We are also indebted to those of you who have joined us more recently and helped us through some tough times. Today, May 3, 2023, WFP held a one-day SCOPE training at the FCDO office which was attended by 20 CP (Cooperation Partner). These 90 CP employees attended the training from various department including SCOPE، Survey and information technology. The purpose of this SCOPE training included the following topics ( Data Mining, Data Quality , ,Standard methods for Scope/Biometrics, Issues in previous Scope process ,Solving method, Updates features in Scope process, Identity Management ,Cycle time Management, Data Transfer Management ,Information Management).

FCDO conducted dates (12/19/2022-12/21/2023), participated in the Training course programme held by WFP about Food Storage Management in WFP warehouse, Food incident Management and Food handling practices at WFP stores. Which Food storage Management includes following topics (Food commodity, warehouse, Warehouse equipment, warehouse staff, Procedures, guidelines, manuals, proclamation, standards on handling practices) , Food incident Management includes following topics (Food incidents definition, what is food incident classification, Difference between Risk and Hazards, Describing the food incident management process within WFP, Guiding principles of communication during an incident, Mock Exercise) and Food handling practices at WFP stores include following topic (to minimize the post-delivery food loss to minimum acceptable level by applying good warehouse management practices).

On November 20, 2022, FCDO held a competitive test for the position (Sales Officer), which was attended by more than 20 applicants. The test process was completed transparently. The applicants who were given the highest score were selected and interviewed.

Today ( 25/10/2022), FCDO held competitive test for position (SCOPE Reg. Officer), which was attended by more than 50 applicants. The test process was completed transparently. The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate hard and soft skills to know the overall qualities of the person to be employed in order to see if the applicant could fit-in the environment. The hard skills test the IT, logical, typing and other technical skills relevant to the job.

On 20/9/2022, FCDO held a competitive test for the position (Proposal Writer), which was attended by more than 7 applicants. The test process was completed transparently. The applicants who were given the highest score were selected and interviewed.

On September 21, 2022, FCDO held a meeting regarding the successful implementation of the WFP UCSS Project in 7 districts of Kabul Province and training of Community Food Assistance Consultation (CFAC). Our staff active involvement in the project and the extra effort and hard work they put into the project helped us complete the project as per schedule which convinced and prompted WFP to trust FCDO again and extend the project for 9 more months. FCDO sincerely appreciates every team member for showing relentless effort for this project and awarded its staff certificates of appreciation. The success our organization has experienced would not be possible without our team's contribution

On 14/7/2022, FCDO held competitive test for position (SCOPE Reg. Officer), which was attended by more than 100 applicants. The test process was completed transparently. The applicants who were selected as Scope Reg. officers were trained for necessary skills such us How to interact, How to do data entry and food distribution.

On June 27, 2022, FCDO held a meeting regarding the successful implementation of the WFP UCSS Project in 7 districts of Kabul Province. The hardwork and tireless efforts of the FCDO staff made the project a success which convinced and prompted WFP to trust FCDO again and extend the project for 3 more months. In order to show its appreciation and gratitude for their efforts, FCDO awarded its staff with certificates of appreciation.

Construction Of Public Infrastructure

Today, April 4, 2024, Representatives of the World Food Programme, TPM, General Director of FCDO Eng Khalil Rahman "Asad" and deputies from FCDO visited the RFS project involved (canal construction and mobile repair vocational training) in the Bagrami district of Kabul province. Mobile repair vocational training provided by FCDO to youths because the targeted communities’ inhabitants are so vulnerable, particularly youths who have no proper business to continue their daily lives in a suitable manner, these vocational classes enable the beneficiaries to have and make their own businesses and ensure sufficient income for their families. The program was designed to provide hands-on training to participants and includes both theoretical and practical components. As a result, the visitors expressed their appreciation for the projects which were implemented thanks to the technical cooperation of the Friends Community Development Organization.

Today, December 17, 2023, Representatives of the World Food Programme, TPM, and deputies from FCDO visited the Cheheltan protection wall and FFA-FFT projects motion in the Paghman district. The RB project involved the construction of protection wall, retaining wall, and road gravelling in Cheheltan village located in paghman district. Furthermore the mentioned protection wall will benefit around 31500 people living in these areas The project involved the construction of a protection wall in Cheheltan village located in the Paghman district. The protection wall length is approximately 950 meters. Moreover, this project has provided employment opportunities for 127 men over six months. As a result, the visitors expressed their appreciation for the projects which were implemented thanks to the technical cooperation of the Friends Community Development Organization.

On November 23, 2023, the FCDO held an opening ceremony to mark the implementation of the project in the villages of Cheheltan and Dara-e-pashayee, located in the Paghman district. The event was attended by representatives from the Kabul province, including Mr. Ibrahim Shaheen the Chairman of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, MRRD representatives, Mr. Hamdullah Khalid the Paghman district governor, Paghman district representatives, local leaders, TPM representative, & FCDO deputies were also present. The project involved the construction of retaining wall, terraces, and road gravelling in Cheheltan and Dara-e-pashayee villages. The retaining wall length is approximately 1550 meters, 3000 small terraces have been excavated in Dara-e-pashayee village, and 2950 meters of road gravelling in Dara-e-pashayee village located in the Paghman district. The mentioned project directly benefits 8000 families in the Paghman district, while indirectly benefiting 12000 families. It serves to irrigate 2000 hectares of residential land, and the excavated terraces benefit 8000 families. Moreover, these projects have provided employment opportunities for 477 men over seventeen months, contributing positively to the fight against poverty in Afghanistan

On October 17, 2023, the FCDO held an opening ceremony to mark the implementation of two projects in the villages of Shiwaki and Butkhak, located in the Bagrami district. The event was attended by representatives from the Kabul province, including Mr. Shaheen the Chairman of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Mohammad Yonus Hanafi, the Director of the MRRD. Bagrami district representatives, local leaders, TPM representative, & FCDO deputies were also present. The two projects involved the construction of an irrigation canal and terraces in Shiwaki and Butkhak villages. The irrigation canal spans approximately 267 meters, and 4599 small terraces have been excavated in Butkhak (specifically in Shahid Wali Khan, Qalem Numray, and Kochi Abad villages). This canal directly benefits 3000 families in the Bagrami district, while indirectly benefiting 4500 families. It serves to irrigate 2250 hectares of residential land, and the excavated terraces benefit 8000 families. Moreover, these projects have provided employment opportunities for 832 men over six months, contributing positively to the fight against poverty in Afghanistan.

On October 1, 2023, German journalists, representatives of the World Food Programme, and deputies from FCDO visited the Cheheltan protection wall and SAMS projects in the Paghman district. The main goals of these programs are to promote job creation and increase rural incomes by supporting key actors in the livestock and high-value crops value chains. These programs aim to: (1) generate sustainable revenue and jobs, (2) enhance the capacity of key businesses in the value chains, and (3) facilitate the sale of high-quality products within the country. It is crucial to note that the project will enhance local food production and improve the food security and livelihood resilience of vulnerable individuals in the Paghman district. As a result, the visitors expressed their appreciation for the projects which were implemented thanks to the financial support of the World Food Programme and the technical cooperation of the Friends Community Development Organization.

World Food Programme (WFP) general deputy director visits a series of food distributions in Sarubi district Today, June 19, 2023, The World Food Programme (WFP) deputy director and representatives of the Program visited the Food Distribution Series in The Sarubi District. The program was attended by The World Food Programme (WFP) deputy, representatives of the WFP, Project Supervisor of The FCDO Eng. Zafar Khan Ahmadzai, Supervisor of the GFD section Eng. Samad and the staff of the organization. During this visits, the World Food Programme's deputy and program representatives first looked at the distribution process of The Sarubi district. They asked what were the opinions of the general people and emirate officials about the program? What do they have demands? How is your relationship with the authorities? What are the challenges? How is your relationship with vulnerable families? We saw women staff working here, are emirate officials going to let them work? All these questions were answered satisfactorily by the officials of The Friends Community Development Organization, and the Deputy of The World Food Programme expressed satisfaction with the food items distributed with the financial support of the World Food Programme and the cooperation of the Friends Community Development Organization and praised the activities of the FCDO. At the end of the program, he also reviewed the food warehouse and mentioned that the series of food distributions are in a positive and transparent manner.

World Food Programme (WFP) General Deputy Director visited the projects Today, Jun 13, 2023, WFP's general deputy director and representatives of the program visited the shiwaki Canal in Bagrami district and the Smallholder Agriculture Market Support (SAMS) projects. The program was attended by The World Food Programme (WFP) general deputy director, representatives of WFP, Eng. Awal Khan Ahmadzai program manager of FCDO, and the organization's staff. At the end of the program, he held talks with the local leaders and farmers of the region and asked the farmers how positively the project would affect their lives. At the end of the talks, they promised comprehensive assistance and other projects to the farmers and local leaders. Later, he also visited the work of Smallholder Agriculture Market Support (SAMS) projects and talked to vulnerable women about their work, and the World Food Programme's general deputy director praised the projects implemented with the financial support of The World Food Programme and the technical cooperation of the FCDO and praised the FCDO’s performance. At the end of the program, he praised the performance of the Friends Community Development Organization (FCDO) as a positive and good opportunity for providing jobs for poor families, and mentioned projects are an important source of economic growth and the growth of farmers' crops.

On, May 9, 2023, FCDO were implemented the 3 projects the retaining wall,road rehabilitation and agricultural irrigation in Paghman district with the financial support of the World Food Programme. The opening ceremony was held in Paghman district in which Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Halim Deputy Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Representatives of The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Mawlawi Abdul Halim Halimi Director of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of Kabul Province, Paghman District Governor Ustad Ahmadullah Khalid, WFP Representative Iftikhar Ahmad, Engineer Awal Khan Ahmadzai(Program manager) , local leaders and staff participated. It should be noted that 3 sub-projects of drainages of agricultural irrigation, retaining wall and road rehabilitation have been implemented in Paghman district of Kabul. Three concrete drainage are runs about 100 meters، the retaining wall runs about 345 meters and the road rehabilitations project is runs about 3000 meters. The mentioned projects will be used by 4000 families of Dare-e-pashayee area. Mentioned projects provided jobs from past nine months for 396 local beneficiaries

Today،May 2, 2023، German International Television Journalists and World Food Programme representatives visited the Shiwaki Canal project in Bagrami district, protection wall projects and distribution of agricultural equipment for vulnerable female families and kitchen gardening projects. The program was attended by representatives of German international journalists,World Food Programme representatives, Eng. Awal Khan Ahmadzai ( Program manager) of FCDO and staff. As a result، German TV journalists and representatives of the World Food Programme expressed their gratitude for the projects implemented with the financial support of the World Food Programme and the technical cooperation of the Friends Community Development Organization. At the end of the program، the vulnerable female families involved in kitchen gardening project interviewed ، and they found their work positive، and they noticed that as an important source of economic growth for most vulnerable families.

On December 4, 2022, FCDO in collaboration with WFP visited the Resilience Building Project work process in Shiwaki, Bagrami district .This project includes the construction of 370m irrigation canal, 5500m of canal cleaning and 427m protection wall in Shiwaki, Bagrami district. About 80% of the RB project was carried out in Shiwaki, Bagrami district.

On October 29, 2022, FCDO in collaboration with WFP visited the Resilience Building Project work process in Paghman district. This project includes the construction of a 3km road rehabilitation, 300m retaining wall, and 100m side drainage for the road in Dara-e-Pashaee,Paghman district. About 80% of the RB project was carried out in Dara-e-Pashaee,Paghman district.

FCDO conducted date (16/11/2022), Monitoring and evaluation done by Mr. Gulabuddin Latifi M&E officer in Paghman AC project. Main purpose of monitoring and evaluation to ensure the most effective and efficient use of resources, evaluate the extent to which the programme /project is having or has had the desired impact. Monitoring means the key elements of program performance on a regular basis (inputs, activities, results)

On September 28, 2022, FCDO visited the Resilience Building Project work process in Paghman and Bagrami districts. This project includes the construction of a 3km road rehabilitation, 300m retaining wall, and 100m side drainage for the road in Dara-e-Pashaee,Paghman district. Construction of 370m irrigation canal and 200m protection wall in Shiwaki, Bagrami district. SAMS Project includes irrigation water management, post-harvest management of fruits and vegetables, kitchen gardening, and solar driers. The project has boosted the productivity of local farmers in the village. In the long run, it will reduce poverty and increase the quality of living conditions for many.

Construction of 3.5 km road rehabilitation and 9 culverts in Dara-e-Pashaee Paghman District ,supported by the World Food Programme ( WFP ) and implemented by Friends Community Development Organization (FCDO). The aim of this project is creation of public assets and provision of jobs for local beneficiaries. It has provided jobs for 335 men and 40 women which is a positive step in fighting against poverty in Afghanistan.

FCDO has initiated the WFP canal cleaning project in the Joibar and Aqa Sarai villages of the Kalakan district. This project will improve the irrigation system, and it will help increase the harvest. It has provided jobs to 238 men and 23 women which is a positive step in the fight against poverty in Afghanistan. Focuses on building capacities, strengthening local governance, and hosting the ex-combatants for a dignified re-integration process. To contribute in empowerment of individuals and communities in social and economic development through active participation of the communities.

Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Change

Provide Timely Relief Assistance to Disaster Affected Communities and Assist them for Timely Rehabilitation and Early Recovery. 
FCDO survey shows that due to recent heavy floods in Dehnaw, Bagh e Mazar, Sarasiab, Pul Kandahari, Sabak Khel, Al-Uzi, and the main village of Mohammad Agha- Logar Province, at least killed 1 person, injured 3, completely destroyed 60 houses and damaged 24 others, also damaged some agricultural lands. The staff of FCDO is trying to help the affected people due to recent floods in many provinces. They are busy and alert 24 hours to provide them basic needs.

A 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck the Southeastern Region of Afghanistan on 22 June 2022. The earthquake has devasted Paktika and Khost provinces. A total of 1,036 deaths and 2,949 injuries were reported by the MoPH on 26 June 2022. There have been no official announcements of casualties since then. FCDO is trying to help the affected people and giving them cash assistance.

To contribute in empowerment of individuals and communities in social and economic development through active participation of the communities. FCDO Objectives To increase access of communities to basic services, raise awareness and lay a foundation for local governance; To help individuals, households, and communities through sustainable livelihood initiatives; To help women in raising income through multiple measures. On (Jan 2, 2022), FCDO executives had a meeting with the Baghrami District Administration to discuss the implementation of the WFP Cash Assistance Distribution project for vulnerable households. FCDO aims to implement the project in collaboration with the Baghrami District Administration, and the District Administration promised to ensure the smooth implementation of the project. Moreover, FCDO officials also had a meeting with the Khak-e-Jabar District Administration, community elders, Mulas of Masjids, and TPM representatives to discuss the implementation of the project and its benefits for the communities. They appreciated the project and promised to collaborate with FCDO to ensure its smooth implementation.

On (Jan 3, 2021), FCDO and TPM officials had a meeting with the Paghman District Administration, community elders, and Mulas of Masjids to discuss the implementation of the WFP Cash Assistance Distribution Project. FCDO officials gave awareness about the Project, and the community elders appreciated it and promised to ensure the project's smooth implementation in Paghman District. The Paghman District Administration promised to collaborate with FCDO, prepare a list of the most eligible households, and maintain transparency.

Conditional- General Food Distribution

FCDO implement GFD (General Food Distribution) project in Bagrami, Paghman, Khak-E-Jabar,Char Asiab,Sarubi,Musayee and Deh Sabz districts. Under this programme, the FCDO provided work to 10% of people related to the construction of roads, canal cleaning , Schools cleaning, construction of protection wall, grooves cleaning, clearing debris ,flatting the roads and gave assistance packages ( Flour, Cooking Oil, salt, Pea Dahl, and malnutrition food for children ) instead of wages. The remaining 90% people receive assistance packages for free.

Today, October 18, the work of the Duran Khel and Chekri projects of Khak Jabar district from the GFD sector was running normally, the details of which are as follows: 1-The public canal of Duran Khel village is 400 meters long, 1 meter wide and 1.2 deep. The cleaning work has been done. Currently, the workers are busy moving the soil around the canal. 10 workers are working in the mentioned project. 2-The repair of a 3-kilometer side road and the cleaning of 1-kilometer ditches have been going on in Chekri village, and so far, about 30 percent of the projects have progressed. 12 workers are working in the above project

On, October 16, the work of 10 percent projects in Tolat, Cheshme Chon Ghar and Abdul Ali in Paghman district has been going on, the description of which is as follows: 1-In Tolat village, a 1,500-meter long road is under construction and about 60 percent of its work is advanced. In the mentioned project, 50 workers have been given a favorable working environment. 2-The village of Cheshme, as Ghar, has 1,300 meters of clearing works and a side road in the plan, which is about 90 percent complete. There are 12 people working in the mentioned project. 3-Abdul Ali village, 1400 meters of canal cleaning work has been completed and 200 meters of road has been repaired and 40 meters of 4.5 meters wide road has also been done in the mentioned village. 15 workers have been provided with work in the project. It should be mentioned that in Paghman and Musayee districts, GFD projects are being implemented, higher than the plan and imagination.

On, October 13, 2022, the work of cleaning the canal of Al-Khil village, cluster 13, Musayee district, has been going on for a length of 3 km from the GFD sector, and so far 50% of the work has been advanced. Today, September 28, a visit was made to the cleaning of the sub-canals of Baz Qoli village and the digging of the septic well in Chaharsu village of Musayee district. It should be noted that the mentioned projects are related to the GFD program, which has been cleaned with a length of 400 meters of the paved canal and a length of 500 meters of the earthen canal in the village of Baz Qoli. Kalakan District Canal Cleaning Project
