WFP Cash Assistance to Vulnerable families
Assistance packages are being distributed to vulnerable families in the Jughato district of Maidan wardak province. In this distribution, a total of 1030 vulnerable households have received packages containing essential food items such as 50 kg of flour, 4.55 kg of cooking oil, 6.25 kg of yellow split peas, and half a kilogram of salt. Additionally, 1154 Children have received malnutrition food to prevent malnutrition, and 577 breastfeeding and pregnant women have received nutrition foods.
This food distribution that was going on in Jughato district which was attended by the Maidan Wardak Rural Rehabilitation and Development Directorate deputy, Jughato district representatives, and TPM.
On, December 28, 2023, General Director of FCDO Eng Khalil Rahman "Asad" visited the SCOPE (biometric) process and food distribution that was going on in the Behsood district of Maidan Wardak province.
Assistance packages ( ration of five months) are being distributed to vulnerable families in the Behsood district of Maidan Wardak province. In this distribution, a total of 1890 vulnerable households have received packages containing essential food items such as 250 kg of flour, 22.75 kg of cooking oil, 31.25 kg of yellow split peas, and 2.5 kg of salt. Additionally, 2117 children have been provided with malnutrition food to prevent malnutrition, and 1059 breastfeeding and pregnant women have received nutrition foods.
This food distribution was attended by TPM, and FCDO deputies were also present.
As a result, Eng Khalil Rahman “Asad” expressed his appreciation for the food distribution and SCOPE process that were in a positive and transparent manner and praised staff performance.
Today,May 27, 2023, Engineer Khalil Rahman Asad , Director of the Friends Community Development Organization, visited the assistance packages distribution and bio metric process in Behsood district of Maidan Wardak province.
The evaluation and monitoring of Behsood district of Maidan Wardak province , was attended by Engineer khalil Rahman Asad and Engineer Farid Ahmad Aria provincial manager of the organization .
The visited took place at a time when the bio metric process and distribution of assistance packages to 1,560 vulnerable families in Behsood district began
Cash is one of the most effective ways for FCDO to help families to fight hunger, malnutrition and improve their food security. Where markets and financial sectors are functioning, putting money directly into people’s hands helps them to buy what they need. It gives them greater choice and independence.
FCDO conducted dated (21/7/2022-26/7/2022), WFP Cash Assistance (4300 AF) to 5880 Vulnerable families in sayedabad district of wardak province.
In Maidan Wardag province, six districts are currently covered by FCDO CBT program
1- Saydabad 5880 families assist with WFP cash assistance to vulnerable families CBT project
2- Jaghato 2200 families assist with assistance packages including(Flour, Cooking Oil, salt, Pea Dahl, and malnutrition food for children)
3- Hesa Awal 1900 families assist with assistance packages including (assistance packages (Flour, Cooking Oil, salt, Pea Dahl, and malnutrition food for children)
4- Markez Behsud 5500 families assist with assistance packages including(Flour, Cooking Oil, salt, Pea Dahl, and malnutrition food for children)
5- Chak 4500 families assist with assistance packages including(Flour, Cooking Oil, salt, Pea Dahl, and malnutrition food for children)
6- Daimirdad 1900 families assist with assistance packages including(Flour, Cooking Oil, salt, Pea Dahl, and malnutrition food for children)
These assistances were distributed to a total of 21,880 families for three months from July to September and the amount of our assistances is not fixed.
