Friends Community Development Organization mission is to work for humanitarian, development and empowerment of socio-economically disadvantaged & vulnerable people in Afghanistan and assist them
in addressing their poverty-linked issues through participatory research and capacity building, construction and rehabilitation of public properties, promotion of best practices and advocacy, providing assistance
to vulnerable households, especially women, and children, and by launching sustainable and replicable innovative projects.
FCDO focus is on the socio-economically disadvantaged groups of vulnerable households, women headed households, unemployed people, women, youth, and children. Keeping in view the overall socio-cultural fabric of the society and the overall power imbalances and discriminations that exist at all levels; the focus, amongst these groups, is again on most vulnerable and the marginalized ones. FCDO also focuses on special groups such as widows and physically impaired persons and elderly people
Drawing as a mean for improving children’s communication skills
Drawing helps with improving children’s communication skills. Thus, it helps youth to understand and order experience, shape their ideas, and submit their feeling as well as thinking. Lessons on drawing are those on the development of speech at the same time. In the course of outplaying a story and drawing, a continuous conversation with children is conducted. Such an organization of activities of kids stimulates their voice activity, contributes to speech imitation, and further organizes a real dialogue with a toy character or with an adult. Thus, it can be said that drawing stimulates the development of the communicative functions of speech
